Therapy

Treatment phases and interventions can be variable. Typically, therapy involves initial intake, assessment and formulation, intervention and maintenance stages. Your treatment plan is collaboratively agreed upon during the formulation session/s and is regularly reviewed during your treatment plan. My areas of interest are predominately military health, trauma (acute and complex), mood fluctuations, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, attachment difficulties, and personality trait vulnerabilities.

Medicare rebates are available provided you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP (approximately $89 per session). I accept Workcover patients which are processed as per their set fee structure. Private Health and self-referrals are also welcomed.

Therapy is offered at two locations:

Nirvana House (Stafford)

Tuesday, Wednesday (fortnightly), Friday and Saturday (fortnightly).

Emotional Health Unit (Mater Hospital)

Wednesday (bi-monthly).

Cognitive and Personality Assessments

Assessments typically involve an initial clinical interview (which can involve information gathering from medical treaters, parents, guardians and partners), followed by an assessment session.

Based on your needs, an assessment battery may need to be administered, however, this is discussed and agreed upon prior to delivery. Areas of assessment can include the following but are not limited to: Personality Disorders, Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disorders.

Depending on your needs, assessment duration, costs and report finalisation, timeframes are variable. Cognitive and personality assessments are conducted Nirvana Psychology and can be booked via contacting the friendly admin staff.
